Pakistan’s embassy in China on Tuesday held a ceremony to mark Pakistan’s 71st Independence Day.
Pakistan’s ambassador to China Masood Khalid kicked off the celebrations by hoisting Pakistan’s flag and singing the national anthem.
Special messages from President Mamnoon Hussain and interim Prime Minister Nasir-ul-Mulk were also read in the ceremony.
Addressing the ceremony Ambassador Khalid said ‘we are proud to be citizens of Pakistan’.
He also stressed on the strong China-Pakistan relationship and termed China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) as a ‘beacon of prosperity’ and ‘shared future’.

Pakistan is celebrating its 71st birthday with tremendous joy and festivity. Many buildings and houses have been decorated with national colors and the country’s green and white flag.
At midnight last night, there were fireworks all over the night skies and celebration was all the more tangible. At dawn after Fajar prayers, there was a 31 gun salute in the capital and a 21 gun salute was staged at provincial headquarters.
